Recycling

The Rural Municipality of Woodlands is committed to making this a more GREEN place to put down roots!

The most recent (2015) Multi-Material Stewardship Manitoba report (available here), indicated that RM of Woodlands residents recycled on average 20.1kg per person, where the average of rural municipalities of similar size was 55kg per person. Now there are many reasons for this, but the most common is that people simply don't know what and where to recycle!

These fact sheets will help you determine what household items are recyclable. We recommend printing one off and posting it somewhere in your home!

Recycle Manitoba has a FABULOUS tool on their website that allows you to check off a product you wish to recycle, and it tells you where you can take it. Give it a try!

Recycling Program Update

We’re pleased to announce some exciting improvements coming to the RM of Woodlands recycling program!

Through a new partnership with the Simply Recycle, we've added new front-load recycling bins at the Woodlands Transfer Station. These larger bins offer increased storage capacity and now allow for both loose and bagged recyclable materials — making drop-offs easier and more convenient for everyone.

In addition, two front-load community recycling bins will be available in the Woodlands Rec Club/Woodlands Hall parking lot. This new location provides a more accessible option for residents who prefer not to travel to the Transfer Station with their recycling.

Please note that these bins are for RECYCLING ONLYNO GARBAGE PLEASE!

We’ve also made significant upgrades to public space recycling across the RM thanks to Simply Recycle:

Lions Park in Warren and the baseball diamonds in Warren and Woodlands are all set to receive a recycling bin overhaul – the bins have arrived, and we will begin replacing the current bins as time permits over the fall, and into spring 2026.

This includes the installation of dual garbage/recycling bins at each diamond, along with new educational signage to help encourage proper recycling.

We hope these changes will support residents in keeping our parks and public spaces clean and litter-free!

Thank you for doing your part to support a cleaner, greener RM of Woodlands!
